Workday® provides the External Supplier Site functionality to register vendors for your organization. This is great for organizations who have simple registration requirements.

The Process

When prospective vendors are provided with the link to the External Supplier Site for your organization, they can register to create an account. An email will be sent to the email address specified:

Once the vendor receives the email and clicks on the link, they will be brought into registration:

Workday allows for configuration, using a combination of supplier fields and organization-customizable questionnaire forms, to capture required information from the vendor:

Once the vendor completes the required fields, they can submit the application for approval and route through a business process. Organizations can define this approval process via the Prospective Supplier Request Event business process definition:

While the External Supplier Site functionality may not fulfill every organization’s requirements, organizations that have straight-forward and few requirements for capturing vendor information may find this to be a great value-add.
