In this first Talent blog, we will explore four pillars that make up Talent Optimization in Workday®:
Performance Enablement
Talent Pipeline
Career & Development
Talent Marketplace
Depending on when a customer initially implemented Workday®, and what was included in phase-1, they may have any or all four of these functional areas.
In a typical implementation, customers will start with Performance Enablement, then build to Talent Pipeline. Once their top talent is identified using processes within Talent Pipeline they move on to Career & Development to develop this top talent and learn what their employees' career aspirations are.
Talent Marketplace is a newer element within Talent Optimization. It includes functionality such as Flex Teams, Career Hub, and using Machine Learning to provide suggestions within Recruiting, Learning, and Compensation. These suggestions are based on a customer’s use of Skills Cloud, which is part of the HCM functionality.
In the next blog of this Talent blog series, we will dive further into the elements of Performance Enablement and outline the configuration options to consider when designing your processes.
